Authors are invited to submit original research to the Journal of Geospatial Urban Analytics (JGUA). Every submission is first assessed by an editor to determine whether it fits the aims and scope of the journal. Manuscripts considered a good fit are sent for double-blind peer review before a decision to accept or reject is made. There are no submission or article processing charges at any stage.
Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included in the manuscript, such as figures, photographs, documents, and datasets. All authors named on the submission must consent to being identified as authors. Where appropriate, research involving human participants or sensitive personal or location data should be approved by an ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study’s country.
Because JGUA focuses on data-driven spatial research, we strongly encourage authors to make their data and code available, or to explain clearly why they cannot. Studies using machine learning should describe their validation design in detail, including how spatial dependence and data leakage were handled. If generative AI tools were used in preparing the manuscript, this must be disclosed in the text.
To support double-blind review, please remove author names and identifying information from the manuscript file, including the acknowledgements and file properties. Author details are entered separately in the submission form.
An editor may desk reject a submission that does not meet minimum standards of quality or falls outside the scope of the journal. Before submitting, please make sure that the study design and research argument are clearly structured, that the title is concise, and that the abstract can stand on its own. This increases the likelihood that reviewers will agree to review the paper. When you are satisfied that your manuscript meets these standards, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.
